Orion Global Trade is an Indian spice export house. We buy at the growing region, process to a written specification, and ship with the documentation the destination market requires.
What we actually do
Most spice trade sits on a chain of intermediaries, and every link in it loses information. By the time a container reaches an importer, the crop year is a guess and the origin is a region rather than a district. That is fine until a lot arrives that does not match the last one, and there is no way to find out why.
We buy directly in the producing belts: pepper and cardamom in Kerala, chilli in Guntur and Byadgi, cumin through Unjha, turmeric from Erode and Nizamabad, and we record origin and crop year against each lot. That is not a marketing position; it is what makes a specification enforceable.
How we work with buyers
The first conversation is about the specification, not the price. Colour, heat, moisture, purity, mesh size, packing and the certificates your market needs, all agreed in writing, then tested against for every lot that follows. A price quoted before that is a price for something undefined.
We would rather tell you a crop is poor this season and offer an alternative origin than ship a weaker lot under the same description and wait for the complaint.
Markets we ship to
Buyers in the Gulf, the European Union, Southeast Asia, Africa and North America. Each has its own requirements. The EU sets the tightest pesticide residue limits most of our buyers face, and several markets regulate permitted colours in blended products. We test against the destination’s rules, not against a general standard.
