A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. This page lists every cookie this site can set, and why. It is deliberately specific: a list that names cookies we do not use would be as misleading as one that omits cookies we do.
We set no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies. Nothing on this site profiles you for marketing or sells an audience to a third party.
Cookies this site sets
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off from within it.
- Page cache markers: set by the caching layer to decide which cached version of a page to serve you. They hold no personal data. Session-length to a few hours.
- Security and anti-abuse: used to rate-limit repeated form submissions and login attempts. Short-lived.
- Login and preference cookies: set only for staff who sign in to the site’s administration area, to keep them authenticated and remember screen preferences. Visitors never receive these.
Functional, and only if you ask for them
- Language selection: the translation control sets a cookie recording the language you chose, so the site stays in it as you move between pages. Nothing is requested from the translation provider, and no cookie is set, until you choose a language. Clearing the selection returns the site to English.
- Anti-spam verification: if form verification is enabled on the enquiry form, the provider sets a cookie to distinguish people from automated submissions. It is set when the form loads on the pages that carry it.
What we do not set
- No advertising, retargeting or conversion-tracking cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No cross-site identifiers or data-broker tags.
If we ever add analytics, we will list it here with its purpose and retention before it goes live, and where consent is required we will ask for it first.
Server logs
Separately from cookies, our web server logs each request (IP address, page, timestamp, referrer and browser user agent) for security and fault diagnosis. This happens at the network level and is not something a cookie setting controls. It is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Controlling cookies
Every current browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block new ones, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working, in particular the enquiry form and the language control.
