Dried Ginger

Cochin ginger is the standard Indian export type, sold unbleached where the buyer is grinding it and bleached where appearance matters more than it should. We supply unbleached as default and will say plainly that bleaching adds nothing the product needs.

What to fix on the specification

• Unbleached or bleached: stated. Unbleached is our default.
• Volatile oil: the figure grinders and extractors formulate against.
• Fibre content, where the material is being ground.
• Moisture and foreign matter.
• Sortex: cleaned to an agreed standard.

Bleaching improves appearance and adds nothing the product needs, so it is worth deciding deliberately rather than inheriting it from a previous supplier. Cleaning and grading covers the sorting standards.
